This is a gentle Hatha/Raja Yoga class appropriate for all levels.
Hatha yoga is not just exercise or a series of poses but the path to inner peace, and balance of body and mind. My journey on the path started 7 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and was put on a list for a heart transplant. Through gentle postures (Hatha yoga), the breath (Pranayama ) and meditation in motion (raja yoga) my practice gave me strength both physically and emotionally to cope with this difficult time. Following a successful resolution of my husband’s heart problems, I continue on this path as do many yoga participants who have also found the physical and mental benefits of yoga add considerably to life’s daily routines. In this class we will use postures and meditation to help relieve stress and tension, strengthen and tone the body, while increasing flexibility and finding a sense of inner peace in the present moment. All levels are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and relax your body and mind. Namaste.
