The Can-Can is a high-energy, physically demanding dance which became a popular music hall dance in the 1840s, continuing in popularity in French cabaret to this day. Classes start with warm up exercises and stretches danced to French chanson progressing to fun fast dancing. Many high kicks – battements and turns with glamours port de bras – arm movements. Wonderful exhilarating exercise experience! No previous dance experience needed.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by deep breathing. Often described as meditation in motion, Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels.

Founded in 1974, The Plattsburgh Karate Club is the oldest continuously operated martial arts club in upstate New York and Vermont. We principally teach and promote traditional Japanese-style karate, ju-jitsu, kendo, and self-defense. We believe in training body and mind. Our students work towards better physical fitness as well as character, and learning many useful self-defense skills in the process.

Open gymnasium time available for those who would like to get together and play pick-up games of basketball. Open to adult members of CVPH Wellness and Fitness Center and Community members who want to walk in to play.

Open to all members and non-members in our community. A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. This unique game was created with one thing in mind: fun! The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. This activity is a great way to beat those winter blues. Pickleball nets, paddles and balls will be provided in the Gymnasium during the times listed below. Grab a partner, come in and play Pickleball!

The Youth Exercising Safely (YES) program consists of 3, 1-hour training sessions with one of our degreed and certified fitness specialists. During these sessions participants will be instructed on strength training, cardiovascular training, as well as safety, and facility etiquette. Fitness specialists will orient participants to a variety of cardiovascular and strength training equipment in addition to providing them with a basic exercise routine. Upon successful completion of the program, he/she becomes eligible to join their parent’s agreement as an additional youth member.
